THEATRICAL STORYTELLING (Overview)

In groups of 3, you will collaborate on composing a theatrical video adapted from Spring Awakening: a theme, character, scene (you may find inspiration in the play text or the musical production, or the songs of the musical). The challenge posed to you is to illuminate something in this expressionist work that strikes a deep cord in you—and, moving from your vision, shape its theatrical expression. Think along the lines of discovering the hidden tensions or finding fresh connections that exist in the play/musical and making your adaptation meaningful to a contemporary audience. Assign each person a specific role in the “production.”

Length: 2-3 Minutes
Due: Post Sunday November 8 by 6pm; individual comments (at least 3 ) are due by class time Monday, November 9.
