Hello. My name is Slavena.
Here are some things about me:
- I was born in Baku, Azerbaijan, a former Soviet Republic. I moved to Brooklyn in 1999, when I was six years old.
- My name is of Slavic origin and means glory.
- My first language was Russian, but I no longer speak it as well as I used to.
- I’m Jewish. My ancestors lived in the Caucasus Mountains in Azerbaijan and moved down to Baku, the capital, in the early part of the 20th century.
- I love going to museums, and I enjoy all kinds of art.
- Random: I love 18th century French furniture.
- I love taking photographs of anything and everything.
- I like to write poetry.
- I like taking long walks.
- I’m an Aquarius.
- I’ve had an interest in genealogy since I was in elementary school, and I’d like to trace my family history as far back as I can.
- I plan to major in biology and attend medical school.
