Scavenger Hunt
When you visit your neighborhood with your group, please take pictures documenting the following locales. You should then post the pictures to our course blog (under the tab for your neighborhood) and include a caption explaining each image. This is a group project – you can post one set of pictures for the whole group. Altogether, each group will post 20 pictures. The deadline for posting the pictures is April 13.
1) Three examples of distinct ethnic foods / foodways. (3 pictures total)
2) Three examples of food fusions. (3 pictures total)
3) Examples (they do not need to be food-related) of three distinct ethnic groups that live in the neighborhood you’re studying. (3 pictures total)
4) Examples of three formal institutions that serve an immigrant population in your neighborhood. (3 pictures total)
5) Two examples of the street culture of your neighborhood. (2 pictures total)
6) Two pictures that reflect the past / history of your neighborhood (for example, historic buildings / transportation lines, etc.) (2 pictures total)
7) Two pictures that show a contrast (economic / racial / ethnic / cultural) in your neighborhood. (2 pictures total but post them together and explain the contrast in your caption)
8) Two pictures that reflect something unique or particularly interesting about your neighborhood (2 pictures total)
