The Met Gala is perceived as a grand party for celebrities to flaunt their wealth, and for the audience to decipher who best fits the “theme”, but the the significance of designers’ execution of their interpretation of the themes is overlooked. It is important that people understand the hard work and meticulous work that goes into creating such lavish outfits and looks, but also to respect the various interpretations of such themes that exist.
