Wow John, this is a really interesting picture. Putting paint on yourself in such a manner doesn’t look an easy task at all. Does the separate colors, that drip from your face, show the various emotions you are experiencing? When I saw this picture I immediately thought of Gotye’s “Somebody That I Used To Know” music video. Are you using primary colors to show that emotions can be easily mixed? This picture has many different angles you can look at, which in my opinion makes art more interesting.

This is so cool. I love the rainbow of color all over your forehead slowly dripping down your face. It kind of makes it seem like we have all the creativity locked up in our minds, we just have to find a way to release that creativity, and we can do that using art. The fact that you painted your skin white to cancel out any other tones and make it seem like you were a blank canvas is really interesting.

OMG THIS IS AMAZING. This picture showcases your personality so well. You are definitely a very creative and interesting person and different colors highlight that. Also, your portraiture skills are really good. Simple background allows the viewers to really focus on your facial expression; there are no distractions which I love. Also, great use of color; dripping paint creates amazing texture as well. Overall, I think you killed it.

I did not even recognize this was you at first, John! I am so intrigued with how you chose to physically incorporate yourself into this diary. It’s incredible! With the white background and base, it’s as if the color – or art – is slowly taking over you in the portrait. Also, I would like to point out that the fact that you can observe the texture of the paint through the photograph and see the light reflect off of it adds great dimension and depth to something that could easily be created flat. I think you did a fantastic job!

John, I love this piece. I think that it very well could be a part of any of the arrangements that I have seen this semester for class. I think that the rainbow on your forehead is a great representation of the open interpretation of art. You have not given us any justification for your piece so the interpretation is up to us.
