My slideshow describes current and past beauty standards through analysis of 2 artworks: Carrie Mae Weems’ Mirror, Mirror, as well as Norman Rockwell’s Girl in Mirror. It also illustrates a recreation of both artworks in a way that will highlight the current standards of beauty and society’s control over women’s appearances. Viewers will learn about current standards of beauty, and question the unrealistic beauty standards that they grew up with.
