In New York City, everyone is from a different country. No two people are the same and that’s what makes it the “melting pot” of the world. Similarly, our Macaulay group expresses this same diversity and as you’ll see, we each have families from different places with different cultures and traditions and this relates to all of the different cultures exhibited in the city. From museum artworks to violin performances, to operas and high-line paintings, there are signs of this diversity of culture all over NY. But getting into this melting pot isn’t always easy; there are challenges such as having to assimilate into American culture to survive and succeed and even having to struggle to adapt to the different traditions and ways of living that we have.
