The Effect of Population Density on Nitrogen Dioxide and Particulate Matter in Queens and Staten Island

Have you ever wondered what is in the air you breathe? Newsflash, there is more than just oxygen in the air you breathe, and it’s detrimental to public health.

In this project, we explored population density and its effect on air quality. Air quality has a vast impact on public health. We analyze the particulate matter and nitrogen dioxide content in Queens and Staten Island. Our study allowed us to investigate the public health concerns of substandard air quality. We hope to encourage the audience to reduce their carbon footprints to live a more sustainable lifestyle by communicating these findings.
