Taking a closer look at art pieces by Carrie Mae Weems and Roy Lichtenstein, I developed a website that breaks down my thought process behind these works. Their art discusses feminist themes with different concepts. Weems focuses on a woman’s role in society and Lichtenstein focuses on a woman’s role in comic art. When entering my website, viewers can look at blog posts where I go into detail about each piece. I want to encourage critical thinking about art and further research about issues the pieces address. Communicating about art keeps both art itself and what the art represents alive.
