This project consists of several installments that cover many forms of art expression. However, they ultimately connect back to transportation and modes of travel. The inspiration behind my black and white short film was based on the independent movie titled “40-year-old version” directed by Rahda Blank. Blank insisted that her film be in black and white to give the characters “a kind of sophisticated, vulnerable treatment”. I then adapted this idea throughout the beginning half of my film. Because I believe that NYC and our means of expression are often met with negative remarks and connotations. In this way my project allows the people of NYC to reclaim the phrase “too loud” and refashion it to mean something more.
