For our MHC 100 Project, we researched and planned “An Evening of Dance” for our class’s theoretical Harlem Festival. We researched dance styles that we found to be important to Harlem and African American culture as a whole. We then found dance groups and choreographers that we felt would represent each style well. Each group/choreographer would speak about their style, its importance and their inspiration for their work, followed by their performance.
