I loved that Donna blended two instruments just as Donna’s family history is blended. I learned a lot about these two instruments from Donna’s video. Donna did a wonderful job describing the purpose of these instruments, their uses and their different sounds.

So cool to learn a little about your history and the connection to music! There are so many instruments that I might have heard being played before, but don’t know the name of it or the history behind it. Percussive instruments are so cool to see being played because there really is a lot to be done with them. I really loved seeing how the Tabla was played with the 2 different sizes, and the Madal being played on both sides! Great video Donna!!

Donna, you did a great job with your video! I have never heard of these instruments, and they both have such a beautiful sound. Also, I was most impressed how you brought back these two instruments to you and your life. I really enjoyed the music that was played throughout the video. It was really interested and engaging the whole time. It seems like the instruments are not easy to play, and you must be able to have two hands playing different tempos to make it work. Super cool, amazing job!

Great video! I really enjoyed listening to the drums, and it is so nice how you showed how you relate to them. The video was very informative and interesting! It is amazing how someone can make so many different sounds and beats with these instruments- all of the people who you showed playing are very talented, and it was great how you included them in the video! Thank you so much for teaching us about this!

We actually use the tabla in Bengali culture too, but I never really knew the details behind it. The video was very enjoyable and informative. Great video!

I love how you chose a music that was particular to your background and origin! I’ve never heard the madal and the tabla and after hearing the beautiful sounds they produce, I want to listen to more pieces that contain these instruments. Excellent job!

This was very interesting because both of these instruments are used in my culture as well however, I never really knew the name of them. The most common one is the dholki which is quite similar to the madal and is often played at Afghan and Pakistani weddings. Thank you also much more for teaching me more about them!
