Over the past two decades, felonies in NYC have generally decreased, save for few exceptions. We would like readers to see these declines, and why the changes may have happened. Some of these reasons are proactive policing, gentrification, and other economic factors. By studying these trends and the accompanying data, we can identify ways for these downward trends to continue to create a safer New York City. We hope this project helps readers to understand how NYC crime has changed and the methods used to create these changes.
