Through the use of invasive species mapping, this project proposes the potential benefit of invasive plant species in locating potential perpetrators based on unique pollen and plant DNA material.
All plants need suitable temperatures to grow and thrive. Nature usually does a pretty good job keeping things in balance, but what happens when things fall out of balance?
We take a look at the beautiful but dangerous Spotted Lanternfly, an invasive species originating in China, that has recently spread from Pennsylvania to NY, threatening our ecosystems and economies.
The invasive species known as the Lantern Flies are a problem throughout states in America. We wanted to see in which borough of NYC the majority of lanternflies exist.
As the world becomes more interconnected, the potential for invasive species to successfully integrate into native ecosystems of the United States increases. Our experiment investigates the relationship between invasive species and the food source which facilitate their survival in a foreign habitat.
