One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest Review
One man’s charismatic pursuits to tear down the realms of authority and to bring forth justice can make for an excellent political movie; now putting that scenario in the setting of a mental asylum can make for a masterpiece. One Flew over the Cuckoo’s Nest is a brilliant comedy with many dark elements that gives both laughs and evocative images. The movie is hailed as a classic, and although it is great in several aspects it does not quite hold to its legendary reputation. Continue reading

The International Center of Photography focuses on the use of photography and how it provides a sentiment to major points in our country’s history, such as 9/11. In fact the museum showcases the art of photography and how it has expanded over the years and in several genres. The museum not only houses quality exhibitions but acts as a school for amateur photographers. The ICP School focuses on all realms of photography and acts as a complimentary service to the incredible museum.

It can be said that art is a form of expression, which records various emotions that people feel; David Ellis takes this concept one step further. Ellis expresses emotions and moods through his larger than life paintings, which take mold on to entire floors, buses, and buildings. Ellis tries to write with his paintings, one of his exhibitions records the concept of music and put it into art form. Ellis is a gifted artist who repeatedly paints areas and shows his art developing from different stages; much can be admired about this artist whether it is his skill or dedication.

Feature Story: A trip to the Met
A breath taking display of art work that intrigues the mind and gives the soul a sense of culture, the Metropolitan Museum of Art houses the finest creations, created by man. Time spans ranging from ancient to modern day, the Met can be seen as a timeline of human progression and human expression. The museum is vast and a person can probably spend days looking at the great number of exhibitions that depict people facing the realities of life include Greek and Roman sculptures, Egyptian tombs, and Japanese battle weapons. Every exhibit in the museum is a vibrant example of the specific time and culture, exhibits that were viewed include “Ugolino and His Sons”, African sculptures, and many more. Through such works of art one notices several themes such as pain and suffering as well as joy and happiness. The actual massive size of the museum is astonishing and actual rooms are custom made to match exhibitions. Continue reading
