Staten Island offers a blend of natural and unnatural environments in one place. Located in the center of Staten Island is the man-made pond of Willowbrook Park Pond. There are varying levels of human interference around the pond, with the southern region having a greater level of human interference than the northern region. Based on this, we hypothesized that the Southern region would have a slightly higher level of biodiversity of flora than the Northern region.
