This is a project for a Macaulay Honors College IDC 3002H course.

For our project, we decided to gather and analyze data from our peers and their pigeon observations from the annual Macaulay Honors College BioBlitz as well as data from the larger iNaturalist community. Our focus of studies was on pigeons since they’re NYC’s mascot and we are bound to encounter them everyday and at any type of weather. Because of this observation, we decided to research and see how climate change, an increase in average temperature, affected their population. Through our research, we noticed that an increase in average temperature has little to no effect on the pigeon population in NY because pigeons have special physiological features that allow them to withstand high temperatures.
