This project, created by Tanna Dodson and Claudia Dana, takes a closer look at how fungi may be utilized for the decomposition of plastic. By taking an in-depth dive into the chemical process behind the degradation of the complex polymers plastic is comprised of, scientists may determine which fungal strains are best suited for the breakdown of various specific compounds.
