We created an artistic interpretation of the poem “Harlem,” by Langston Hughes, one of the prominent leaders of the Harlem Renaissance. We show his work in context of that time period and interpret its message as speaking to the generation of the civil rights movement. This will hopefully serve as an interesting and useful method to learn about the Harlem Renaissance and the truly great works of art produced during that time.
