Chris, I liked the Andy Warhol approach you took onto your variations. For me, the different shades of darkness and red really took the viewer in. The contrasts allowed you to see depth and focus on the whole figure rather than one part. The pose of the model and the original Dr. Pozzi have an uncanny resemblance to each other. The first variation of “We can do it!” may also exemplify that we as a society can achieve social mobility if we strive for greatness.

Immediately I loved your interpretation of this photo. When I first saw this one at the museum, it stood out to me that the figure was of a male. This was normal during the time period. You, though, were able to modernize it. I felt that you took the male dominance from Sargent’s painting and shifted it into the female perspective and it definitely makes a statement. The “We Can Do It” version works very well with your theme as well. It shows power is not gender specific. Your post needs no words to describe it, well done!

PS- the heels make a great touch 🙂
