David Pare

This is a quick biographical summary of one of my favorite artists, and one of the most influential from the Harlem Renaissance. Jacob Lawrence represents an important part of American history, as he is a medium to understanding the struggles and triumphs of African Americans. He does not dilute his message, but rather sharpens it with his “dynamic cubism” and his ability to create rhythm and movement in his work.
