My name is Charlotte Brooks, and I'm an assistant professor of history at Baruch College as well as a resident of Brooklyn. Born in the L.A. area and raised near Sacramento, I am a third generation Californian, but I fell in love with New York during college and have lived here since 2000. Despite the weather, I can't really imagine living anywhere else. As the professor for this section of IDC 3001H, I've learned a lot this year, including that almost no one leads tours of Brighton Beach or writes about it! More importantly, I've learned that the students in my section are amazing people and scholars.
